[mythtv-users] Sanity check before I upgrade

I'm about to upgrade my FC3 MythTV system to FC4 in the hope that it
will stop getting system lock-ups where the only solution is to press
the reset button. Could someone please advise whether this is a sound
upgrade plan?

1) Do a complete backup of everything except the recordings partition
(don't have room to back that up)

2) Use mysqldump to export the complete mythconverg database.

3) Do a fresh install of FC4 from CD taking care not to blow away the
recordings partition.

4) Configure my capture cards etc as per Jarod Wilson's excellent guide.

5) Install MythTV from ATrpms binaries.

6) Import the mysql dump I took in step 2.

I should now be up and running, shouldn't I? The main thing I wanted
to check is that by exporting and importing the mythconverg database I
would have all the settings and recording scheules just as I had them
before without having to redo them all?

Regards,
Phill
