Can you be a bit less cryptic?

My problem was with Comedy Central's listings, so I wrote a simple
screen scraper to download the episode information.  After running
mythfilldatabase (from cron), it runs the screen scraper, and applies
changes directly to the database.  All I need is an easy way to tell the
mythbackend that the schedule has changed (mythfilldatabase does this,
but it would clobber my changes; it might make sense to have an option
for it to not do any updates, just tell Myth to reschedule (along with
another option to skip the schedule update notification)).

A quick look at www.xmltv.org doesn't show any obvious tools for this
job.
