salut,

so i got this g5 running os x, and downloaded a frontend build from
thesniderpad, after not being able to compile the source without
errors... anyway, my issue is this. when watching tv, most of my
programs are in 4:3 so i get some black barrs on the side because im
widescreen. no biggee. however, when something is recorded, or
watched live in widescreen, i try to zoom, so i'm not watching a show
with black borders all the way around, however, the image gets
unwatchable. like it doesn't turn to fuzz, but it looks like lots of
frames are being skipped, and the motion is horrific, and just not
watchable. i have also tried switching the option to view 4:3 to
16:9 and the other options, however, they literally do nothing. i
did have one interesting idea, os x lets you zoom in, so i tried
that, figured out how far to zoom and all.... but then something
interesting happens. the mythtv interface, and even os x if i exit
out are zoomed, but as soon as a recording or live tv come on, it
just takes over the display as if nothing has changed. its still in
it's normal non zoomed mode. exit out, and everything else is zoomed.

im displaying myth on a 20 inch cinema display, 1680x1050, gig
and a half of ram, a radeon 9800 something edition and have noticed
i'm not really taxing my system at all.

is this common in linux frontends as well? am i skipping quickly
past a setting i should have clicked?

any insight appreciated.

regards,
preston
