John,
   Thanks. No luck. The commands ran fine but when I try to start up
mysqld I still get the message about something being in an unusable
3.20 format, as I posted earlier.

   I'm gonna bag this and just try to bring up M{th from scratch.
Right now we only have about 10 saved programs. No big deal at all if
I lose those. I'll rename them and they are watchable in mplayer so
nothing is really lost.

   I appreaciate your ideas and help. Thanks a lot and thanks to
others who have answered.
