I just reconfigured my mythbox, and am having the same problem.
Here's my setup:

AMD X2 4200+ running 64-bit linux
Fedora Core 5 with 2.6.17-1.2139_FC5 kernel
SVN release-0-19-fixes (as of 7/7/06)

First attempt was with ivtv rpm modules:

[root at hercules bleeding]# rpm -qa | grep -i ivtv
ivtv-firmware-enc-2.04.024-9.at
perl-Video-ivtv-0.13-7.rhfc5.at
ivtv-firmware-dec-2.02.023-9.at
ivtv-0.8-116.rhfc5.at
ivtv-kmdl-2.6.17-1.2139_FC5-0.8-116.rhfc5.at
ivtv-firmware-audio-0.0.1-5.at

Second attempt was with ivtv svn 0.7.

In both cases, I can watch tv by doing 'cat /dev/video0 >
/tmp/test.mpg', and watching it with 'mplayer -vo xv /tmp/test.mpg'
with no problems. However, when I try to watch in myth, I get the
following error:

2006-07-08 18:03:23.884 TVRec(3): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
Error getting codec params
IVTV_IOC_G_CODEC:: Invalid argument
2006-07-08 18:03:51.085 TVRec(3): Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None

I deleted and re-added my capture cards, with no success.

Suggestions?
~Dean
