If mythtvsetup forces you to select a video source then you may as
well select the UK one.  If I remember right then it runs in a
terminal window and you should be able to switch to that window and
ctrl-C to kill it and return to the mythtvsetup window.

Now you'll have to run whatever grabber you are able come up with,
followed by running mythfilldatabase from the command line.  But you
should be able to watch TV without having to do this step.

Then you probably want to find a graphical SQL editor, such as
myphpadmin (phpmyadmin ?) to edit the mythconverg database directly.
Or look at mythweb, maybe you can set channel frequencies there?
