Sigh...  nope....  I commented out the 'bind-address' line, and it still 
won't connect... on the machine, this fails:

mythbe ~ # mysql -u mythtv
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'mythtv'@'localhost' (using 
password: NO)
