[mythtv-users] Overture case and heat

Hi Guys,

I have this case too and was having serious heat issues.

I modified the case by drilling a grill into the top cover right above the
CPU. The same way the new version of the case is.

I don't have any pictures, but if you need some I can provide . . .

What I did was:
1) Measure the distance to the center of the CPU fan from the right side and
rear of the case.

2) turn the cover so I was looking at the inside and mark the spot.

3) Using the bottom of a CD pack Cake Box I made a circle on some 1/4 inch
graph paper. I cut out the circle and taped it over the mark I made, careful
to center it on the mark.

4) Mark the corner of each block with a center punch. Just a little tap to
mark the cover, not so hard that you dent it.

5) Drill each of the marks with a 3/32 drill bit.

6) Cleaned up the edges of the holes with slightly larger bit by hand and
used a "Sharpie" marker to black out the holes. You can tell the difference
but it's close enough for me. If it really bugs you, you can always spray
the cover with high gloss black spraypaint.

No more heat issues, it works really well.
