[mythtv-users] Recording Priorities...

Hey guys,

I've been using mythtv for a while now, I love it, thanks to every one
involved. With that out of the way, I've just discovered a bit of an
intruiging behavior...

I had two shows, Mythbusters (mine) and Gilmore Girls (the girlfriend's)
that started at the same time. Now my girlfriend usually watches the shows
when they're actually on tv (commercials... EW!) so all of the shows she
watches are set to -10 priority. Now, smartly mythtv picked up on this and
recorded Mythbusters over Gilmore Girls (the same decision anyone with an IQ
anywhere close to or above room temperature would choose, but shhhhh, don't
tell my girlfriend I said that!) and Gilmore Girls was left in conflict due
because of the priorities. All fine and good. The weird behavior started
though when I noticed the SAME episode of Mythbusters was being shown the
next day but the Gilmore Girls episode wasn't being shown again at all...
out of curiosity I cancelled the recording of the Mythbusters that was
originally blocking Gilmore Girls and lo and behold, mythtv picked up that
episode of Gilmore Girls *and* the episode of Mythbusters.

Why didn't it see that this conflict could be resolved optimally (that is,
no "conflicts" if you delayed recording Mythbusters)? Is this a "feature"
that I failed to read about priorities somewhere?

If this is the way it is "supposed" to work then someone tell me, but surely
mythtv should try to get as many episodes as possible despite priorities?
