Funny, I would have said something about the "dreaded binaries", I  
hate it when somebody else decides how my executables should be made :-)

 From your other posts and the realization that all your required  
modules are not loading, and your statement about compilation errors:

I wonder if you have your kernel sources properly installed. I seem  
to remember when I worked with FC3 that they had decided you didn't  
really need the kernel sources, and IIRC I had to jump through many  
hoops to get the correct ones installed. Not just any sources will  
do, they have to be the exact ones your running kernel was built with  
if you want to build kernel modules.
