I tried the old kernel + nvidia 7676 driver and the 100% CPU issue is gone.
I'm just not sure if it's the nvidia driver that causes it or the kernel 
(different audio driver perhaps because I seen some audio buffer related 
warnings earlier in mythfrontend).
