 |Some people claim that enabling OpenGL causes their machine to lock
 |up. I seem to remember Daniel Kristjansson committing some fixes to
 |svn which *might* help with that. I have never personally had that
 |problem, so don't know.

I just tested today's SVN snapshot and can elaborate a bit on the current
problem and driver correlation.

Like Matthew, I started with NVidia 1.0-8178 drivers. I enabled OpenGL
vsync. No problem with NTSC programs, but ATSC programs (1920x1080i in
particular) exhibited bad stuttering (1/3 second video+audio, 1/3 second
pause, 1/3 second video+audio, etc.)

I backed the NVidia drivers down to 1.0-7676 (changing nothing else), and
with OpenGL vsync still enabled, I got 2-5 stutters at the beginning of
each channel change to a 1920x1080i ATSC program, but then it stabilized
and was fine (no more skips/pauses).

Note: enabling Twinview (two DACS: #1=CRT, #2=TV) on 7676 causes the same
problem as seen with 8178. Presumably the OpenGL extension is the CRT's
vsync instead of the TV's. If I swap and make #1=TV and #2=CRT with
Twinview, the problem is much less but still not perfect even after the
initial stutters.

No lock ups however. However, I only tested this briefly.
