The only options for sorting are:

Sort Episodes
    - Record date
    - Original Air date
    - Program ID
Selects how to sort a shows episodes

However, There's also the option

Default View
    - Show Titles only
    - Show Titles and Categories
    - Show Titles, Categories, and Recording Groups
    - Show Titles and Recording Groups
    - Show Categories only
    - Show Categories and Recording Groups
    - Show Recording Groups only
Select what type of grouping to show on the Watch Recordings screen by 
default.

which, when set to "Show Titles only" (the default) gives a list in the 
left column of the Watch Recordings screen that is a list of titles.
