[mythtv-users] FC4 software raid

I'm attempting to set up a myth .19 backend on a Dell Poweredge 2400
PIII/866 box using Fedora Core 4.
I installed the os and updated with yum on a 20gig scsi drive attached
to one of the onboard controllers.
Myth installed, configured and connected a remote fe. Works great.
Now I want to move my 4 drive array storage from a windows box to my
myth server.
Installed 4 SATA drives and a Sil 3114 sata card. Fedora detected the
card and drives. Assigned the driver device sdb - sde.
Device SDA is one SCSI drive attached to the onboard controller.
Following the instructions I found at
http://home.gagme.com/greg/linux/raid-lvm.php
When I issue the mdadm --create command, it looks like it's gonna work.
I get a message that the array is being built, it runs for less than a
minute than I start getting all kinds of errors. Basically the system
loses communication with all of the drives. Even the SCSI drive.
At this point I can't do anything with the system.
Any command returns sd 0:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to offline device.
Only way to shutdown is power or hard reset.

Questions.
Are the instructions at the above link valid?
Anyone doing something similar have any advice?
Thanks
Glen.
