I run mythtv on a home built box with an nvidia 5200 video card, I gig
of ram, a sempron processor 2700 (If I remember correctly on speed) and
have no problems. Im running version .18. This is connected to my
panasonic 49 inch projection tv with my video card out. No problems.

It is definatly worth it!

I think most problem posts in here are because they are running the
latest release of mythtv and there are some bugs to work out as there is
always with new releases. Plus some are using more complex hardware.

Of course, I didnt spend thousands on a box. I spend about 500 bucks.
