I know this may not be the case, but in my experience up to this
point, it sounds like you're fighting a hardware / DMA / IRQ / IO
issue, not a driver or configuration issue.

Almost ALL of the times in the past I've fought something like this,
it turned out to be hardware. In some cases it took 2-3 months to be
become obvious....
