[mythtv-users] Alternatives to DataDirect?

I saw this option and enabled it, but I am down to 5 days now. I have a 
different backend / frontend and don't have a monitor attached to the 
backend so I don't configure it much. Does this setting need to be 
enabled on the backend machine? Mythfilldatabase does not seem to be 
running.
