I asked them by mailing support, but only got a polite answer explaining 
that the right forum would be the trolltech mailiing list as I dont
have a support agreement with . And that is fine but I haven't joined the
list yet...

I also looked at the source code for the QtSQL driver and there is definitely
currently no possibility of setting the parameter.
