Try adding some different overscan settings to your xorg.conf.
It looks like this, and I believe values between 0 and 1 are allowed, where 0
is no overscan and 1 is as much overscan as the card can do.
Option "TVOverScan" "0.9"
Also, with the network card issue. I had that problem with a laptop using the
eepro100 module, but the e100 module fixed it for me. Since you're using
fedora core, you probably have a bloated kernel with eepro100 support right
in the kernel, so you'll probably have to re-compile your kernel to fix that
problem. But, just for fun, type "lsmod" and let us know what modules you
have loaded. Also, do a real quick "lspci -vv" for us too. It should shed
some light on what network card you have.
