[mythtv-users] IVTV PVR 350 TV Out - ivtvdev_drv.o is unresolved

I should comment that I am pretty green, but I follow instructions well. 
Here the directions get a little fuzzy.  I did download and compile the
latest IVTV driver at the time which was 0.4.8 for my 2.6.12 kernel.  The
problem is that it doesn't seem to have any effect on creating the proper
ivtvdev_drv.o file.  All the info in this IVTV How to:
http://www.ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Howto refers to placing the .ko
drivers into the /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/video/
directory.  The error generated in X seems to be related to a different
problem in
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o is unresolved!

Can you or anyone else comment and perhpas give more specific directions?

Any help is sure appreciated.  I've been fighting this for a couple of
months now.
