Jeff,

Well, being a geek, and knowing that the best way to use a product is by 
starting at the beginning  and reading the instructions, I would say 
yup, I would think that someone with a fairly high level of intelligence 
(which is a longer was of saying geek) would read as possible about said 
product before using it, and at the least, when having a 
problem/complaint search to see if its already covered somewhere, hell I 
would even check out the gossamer thread list at the very least, which 
would've pointed me to the wiki, which would then lead me to the Feature 
Wishlist Page. Especially when using a product that hasnt made it to or 
past its 1.0 release.
