Thanks for that. Just to wrap things up - with regard to the uk_rt
XMLTV grabber which \has\ to download the entire 2 weeks of listings
as each channel is kept in a single file, does the same apply?

Do you think there is a need (or if it was coded would it likely be
accepted) for an option in mythtv-setup to allow the deletion of
program listings data like the OP could use in one fell swoop to clear
out the listings data, without either waiting for it to expire
naturally or having to tinker with the database directly?
