I am using a 64 bit kernel. The distros I used to experiment are: Suse 10.1 (2.6.16) and Fedora Core 5 (2.6.17). Be aware that the SuSE mythtv guru packages are a little broken (at list for 64  bit) and you need to change a coupe of things in the /etc/init.d/script. If anyone is interested, I can post the chages I had to make!
