[mythtv-users] Can we use video filters to change the video resolution?

Hellow,
 I am just trying to figure out a way to get rid of square mode of Myth tv.
 
 I scheduled my favorite shows and gone for a weekend trip which ended well but I am very dissapointed at the recordings as they were not up to my expectations.They chacters in the show seemed as if they were put in a huge shark mesh(sorry for the comparision but i just seen the previous day a show in NAT GEO about Sharks!) and that to in a square box(true! sharks were put in a square box and will be put to observation in that show! )all the way till the end(!)
 
 So, I want to  change my aspect ratio so that I will never see that square meshed case any more!
 Plz help me !
