I am using kernel deinterlace with a hdtv monitor and it provides a better
picture than the monitor itself can provide when upscaling video. Video
source is a dishnet receiver and cpature card is a pvr-250 with s-video
cables. My system is running 0.19-fixes and xv with a nVidea 5200 vid card.
I find that the bitrate you capture at makes a huge difference in picture
quality. I run 8000 for the peak rate and 6000 for the bitrate. The above
settings always get a "wow" from visitors who see it for the first time.
