I think that would help with the missing audio.
While watching the recording press 'M' for menu, and then select
'Begin Transcoding' . For my DVB-T recordings it takes about
5min/hour to do a lossless transcode on my lowly 1GHz AMD-XP1400.
There's a transcoding setup page somewhere in the frontend setup and I
just selected 'lossless' for the MPEG-2 autodetect profile. (I don't
know how I'd select a different profile if I wanted one?).
