I've never had FFW/REW working properly on mythtv... ever. I always
had to use the skip forward or skip back buttons. This doesn't bother
me particularly, but it's a show stopper for the rest of the (VCR
trained) family. They like to be able to see the action and stop it
when they get to a familiar location.
Anyway, here's the problem:
I press FFW or REW and the video starts playing back at 3x the normal
rate, i haven't tried faster. As I approach my target point in the
video, I press play. Playback resumes normally, but at the same time
that I had originally started fast forwarding or rewinding, rather
than the new time. In effect, the FFW or REW is totally useless.
Interestingly, this has been a problem the entire time I've been using
mythtv -- since 0.13.
Perhaps it's a distribution or hardware specific bug?
Backend hardware:
2.8GHz P4
512MB DDR2
PVR150-MCE
PVR250-MCE
Frontend hardware:
1.5GHz Athlon XP
512MB DDR
FX5200 using DVI out
Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
Both computers are running the same -fixes branch mythtv, both
computers have the same kernels (2.6.16.2), and both are running the
current Arch Linux distribution.
Others having this problem?
