I've never tried it, but past behavior suggests that you could put a
symlink from /myth/video/cdrom -> /cdrom and then when you insert a disk
all you would have to do is go to the "manage videos" menu and Myth will
update the database with the contents of the cdrom as it automatically
searches the entire directory tree from /myth/video downwards.

There is a separate program called 'smbmount' (in the smbtools package,
I think) which can do this for you. The regular 'umount' program can
unmount the share.

Same-same. The smbmount program doesn't care whether the share is
hosted by a Linux box running Samba or a Windows box.

If you mean "copy mpeg files to the hard drive" then no, although the
video manager will automatically list them if you can mount the drive
below /myth/video. If you mean "rip a DVD to hard drive" then there is
a Myth plug-in package to do this.

It tries to. If the show still has the original name specified by
nuvexport then it will do a title match. If the lookup returns either
multiple results or no results then it will give you an opportunity to
massage the data by changing the search terms or by directly specifying
the record number used by the IMDB web site (ie: you search for the
correct entry using your web browser and then copy/paste the record
number from the browser address bar into the MythTV gui). Make sure you
get it right the first time! Once MythTV has downloaded a thumbnail
(for use in the playback listings) it won't replace it with a corrected
version even if you delete all IMDB data and search again.
