You won't necessarily lose the remote capability with a 500, only a 
500mce.

I'd get a good learning RF remote the like HTM MX-700 or one 
of the Harmony remotes, unless the 500 has the IR capability.

Ugh, I don't know how.  That thing is good enough for 
the basics of a 250 running under windows, but using 
it with Myth is painful
