Because I didn't know about it? What's the difference in Thac's kernel 
versus the standard one? I was running just fine off one I compiled from 
source a while back, same version incidentally, until I decided I really 
wanted digital sound, and destroyed everything else in the process. 
Sidenote: The digital sound in DVD's work's wonderfully. Yeah me :/
