[mythtv-users] Pvr 500 MCE on a 2.4.X kernel?

Has anybody been able to do this?

I spent half a day trying to install it with 2.4.26 patched with the 
kraxelpatch.
Used version 3.7 of the drivers which compile fine. The card is detected but 
all I get is static. There is also the message that tuner card is not set. 
depmod seems to be ignoring my modules.conf.

I spent the next half of the day reverting to the old 2.4.20-30.9 kernel via 
the hard way (kernel and module recompile).


I am stuck with a 2.4.X kernel (At least I think) because I have a
large 1.2terabyte LVM video storage spread out over two backends in
redhat 9. I dont
know how to upgrade to a newer 2.6 kernel/distro without risking destroying 
this data.

One of my software encoders has failed so I purchased a PVR 500.
