Sorry for my terseness...  Trying to cut down on some of my long-winded
replies.

Basically, the only way to do it now is to manually import the CD--using
something other than Myth, like cdrparanoia.  Then just copy the files
into the appropriate directory structure for your MythMusic.

AIUI, In the future, however, Myth will support uninterrupted playback
of many types of media (music included) whether you're in the menus or
the gallery or ...  The program that allows this is mfd (
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/trunk/mfd ).  Currently, you can test
it out with mfe ( http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/trunk/mfe ), but
eventually, mythfrontend will support it.
