[mythtv-users] VGA problem

A few quickie questions:

 

1)       You mention that it works in Windows. What resolutions does windows
run at when it runs?

2)       Have you tried powerstrip in Windows? Powerstrip will give you the
modeline that your video card is running at - you can actually cut and paste
in directly into an X.org conf file.

3)       Is your TV in "VGA" mode (sometimes called PC Mode), do you have
any other inputs on the set (try removing all inputs but the vga one and
play around with input selection).

I am turning to this mailing list since I have lost hope in any other
(believe me, I tried them all...).
I really need an X expert and I thought that since this group is dealing
with display quite often I might find him/her here.
My problem is that I have Toshiba 43JS9UE  TV (see
http://www.toshiba.com.sg/__48256BAC0062814D.nsf/webDocuments/TSPS-64M5JZ)
and the following PC: 
VoxBox-B - Accent HT-400 HTPC (Home Theater PC) Case for Full size ATX board
with front USB and fire wire ports. 
I tried installing Fedora,  booting Ubuntu Live CD (I also tried my Laptop
with VGA=791 in the grub) no matter what I try, once the system start the X
the screen goes black. This obviously stops me from installing ogro on my
Home Theater PC...
Seems to me this problem really requires an X expert... anyone?
