Just a follow up to a problem I posted a few months ago...

The problem I had was that if I tried to watch any recordings on my
remote front end that were longer than ~90 min. (or 2GB as it turns
out) the recording would get all pixilated and freeze for a few
moments if I tried to skip or fast forward past the ~90min point.
Skipping or fast forwarding would always work fine during the early
part of a recording.

I finally figured out that this problem was due to the fact that I was
mounting the recordings using nfs version 2 (and the 'soft' option, if
that matters). I should have read more carefully when I copied those
options out of that nfs tutorial.

I changed the options for the nfs mount line in /etc/fstab to:
     hard,intr,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,nfsvers=3
and now the front end works great.
