My current myth box, I've used for a year or 2 with no problems. I
formatted and re-installed with FC4 and myth and now it is freezing. It
may wait a few hours or go almost 2 days, but it lunches hard and
freezes the box with no info in the logs as to why. this has been going
on for about a month now. I just swapped my xorg.conf back to use the
Here's what I got.
FIC SD-11 Mainboard (AMD 751 North bridge, VIA VT82C686 South bridge)
950Mhz Athlon (Slot A)
80GB Hitatchi Hard Drive
NVidia TNT2 card (not used wth myth)
Hauppauge 350 tuner
Linksys wifi card
I've heard there are issues with some via chips, so I'm calling my
kernel with the following options(from grub.conf)
title Fedora Core (2.6.13-1.1532_FC4)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.13-1.1532_FC4 ro
root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet noapic nolapic pci=noacpi acpi=off
initrd /initrd-2.6.13-1.1532_FC4.img
Here's my modprobe.conf
# cat /etc/modprobe.conf
alias ra0 rt2500
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
alias usb-controller uhci-hcd
# ivtv modules setup
alias char-major-81 ivtv
alias char-major-81-0 ivtv
options ivtv debug=1
alias tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv
install ivtv /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install ivtv; /sbin/modprobe ivtv-fb
install lirc_i2c /sbin/modprobe ivtv; /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install
lirc_i2c
alias eth0 rt2500
here's my lspci output. Doesn't appear that anything is sharing an
interrupt or anything like that...
# /sbin/lspci -v
