[mythtv-users] Can't mute, can't change 6cg AC3 volume, audio volume shift on play

I don't have a receiver, just "dumb" speakers plugged in to my nf2's
output... I don't want any pass through. I also stopped using my TV
for speakers because I wanted 5.1 audio for my movie collection, and a
real bass for music.

So it seems that I can boil it down to two questions:

1) Why can't I ever get no output?
2) How do I turn off pass through?
