I think this would be a useful feature to have, as ALSA seems to have
more than its fair share of questions on the list (I've been reading
for ~1yr, running for 6months). I would also think that parsing the
output of 'aplay -L' could be very useful in prepopulating the audio
selection lists to show possible ALSA output devices (e.g. ALSA:front,
ALSA:spdif etc)
