[mythtv-users] Remote encoder not responding and WriteStringList: Bad socket

To add to my setup's description, I thought I'd also mention that I am using 
an Asus A7N8X-E (an nforce2 motherboard).  And I'm using the onboard sound.

Also, I've found the following errors in /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log that 
might be interesting:
