So, I picked up a FireWire card to give this all a shot. Everything
seems fine in Dmesg and FC3 recognized the card on boot.
I compiled 6200ch and tried to run it, but it says it can't find it.
Here's the output of "plugreport" and "6200ch":

Host Adapter 0
==============

Node 0 GUID 0x0011060000003348
------------------------------
libiec61883 error: error reading oMPR
libiec61883 error: error reading iMPR

Node 1 GUID 0x0012c9fffe372faa

oMPR n_plugs=1, data_rate=2, bcast_channel=63
oPCR[0] online=1, bcast_connection=0, n_p2p_connections=0
        channel=0, data_rate=2, overhead_id=0, payload=376
iMPR n_plugs=0, data_rate=2

[root at dolph contrib]# ./6200ch -v 704
node 1: vendor_id = 0x000012c9 model_id = 0x0000620a
Could not find Motorola DCT-6200 on the 1394 bus.

Also, as a side note... To get 6200ch to compile I ended up installing
the "-devel" versions of the the ieee1394 packages.

Thanks,
Dave
