Unless you are really tight on disk space, I strongly advise you to
never watch live tv, to always start recording the show and watching
the recording.

Aside from the ability described, to watch it on two frontends, you
are much safer. If you watch TV you are in a vulnerable state. Any
problem, even the accidental pressing of escape or a number of other
keys, will lose your recording buffer. This is extremely frustrating
if you are watching many minutes behind and lose the end of a program,
for example.

Why risk it?

Isaac has said he hopes to move LiveTV over to being more like a
special case of a recorded program anyway, to avoid some of these
problems and unify the code base, but until this happens I find
LiveTV more of a gimmick than a useful feature.
