[mythtv-users] testing sound recording?

i have problem with watching tv in mythtv: i have no sound. i allready
consulted the documentation and made any tests, which are described
there with success. so myth should work. but still no sound. now i would
like to test, if myth stops captur control of the alsamixer when it
starts. does anybody know, how i can test, if myth is recording when its
starts? or any hints for my sound problem?
