I'm using ReiserFS, but apparently it's not just the low space. Just
minutes ago, I finished watching a 1 hr recording with 2.5 GB left,
and there wasn't a problem...

Apparently it's not just the space... I'll see whether I can figure
out some more factors that contribute to the situation next time it
comes up.
