Hi,
I tried upgrading my version of FFMPEG last night and it did the trick.
The version of FFMPEG that I had was too early.
So I unmasked 0.4.9_pre1 and installed it.
Successfully managed to burn an SCVD and it works.

The quality wasn't impressive, but then the original signal was not good
and I had already transcoded to MPEG4 which obviously introduces some
other variables. Also, I was capturing at 480x480 (NTSC SVCD) instead of
576x480 which I have fixed now and kicked off a longer job on a RTJEG
compressed recording of a better quality.

Jay - I would be interested in knowing which FFMPEG you picked up as
according to Gentoo portage 0.4.7 is the only unmasked FFMPEG version
for x86 and it doesn't seem to have the necessary "guts" for mpeg2
encoding. Did you have to do the same as me and unmask a later one?

I see that the ebuild for nuvexport in Gentoo portage is masked. Would
that be because required dependants are also masked?

Cheers,
Ralph
