[mythtv-users] Comcast software upgrade

Last month comcast upgraded their software (70.07) on my digital set top 
box.  It now has a Record menu option, I assume for compatibility with the 
pvr's they are now using.  When I select record, it gives you the message 
"Set up your VCR using your manufacturers instructions and select 
continue".

Does anyone know if using this record function will change the channel on 
the set top box?  My firmware is too old so I never went the serial/IR 
channel changer route, I only record the analog stations.  It would be nice 
to know that this function will now change the channel.

I have an old pvr250 with a burned out tuner.  What I am thinking about 
trying is sticking that tuner-challenged card in my box and setting it up 
to record directly from another cable input that channel changes from the 
comcast menu.  Has anyone attempted anything like this?
