[mythtv-users] DVD playing and PVR350 output

Yes, there is.  However, since the PVR-350 is
basically a "dumb framebuffer" in this case, you'll
need a beefier CPU.

I've done it before, but it was long ago (since I like
to use MythGame, I've given up on the PVR-350, and use
an nVidia FX5200 instead).  If I recall correctly, you
need to use the Xshm (X Shared Memory) output plugin,
as there is/was no Xv support.  On my machine at the
time (an Athlon XP 2400+, which is about 2.0GHz), Xine
was complaining about dropped frames, but the movie
seemed to play back okay.

You may want to check out the ivtv mailing list, I
thought I saw some posts about a new driver for Xine
that there's some people working on, which would take
advantage of the MPEG-2 acceleration.
