I think it's somewhere between 10 and 20%.

> xine has xvmc compiled and an plays with xine -V xxmc

When you run it with -v (I think) it should state explicitly somewhere that 
it is using hardware decoding. I tried getting XvMC to run using some .mpg 
file I had laying around, and it took me a while to discover hardware 
decoding does not work on all video files given to Xine. I think if you run 
Xine without any files and -v -V xmmc it should give you the message you 
should be looking for.

Also, make sure all modules are actually loaded, check the Xorg logs that 
the module is not disabled somewhere.
