Okay, slight progress has been made.  But slight progress is better than
no progress at all.  I went into "alsamixer" and set up everything just
like you said to.  Now here's the latest table:



Audio cable is hooked
into "mic in"
Audio cable is hooked
into "line in"
MythTV
Audio is now in sync,
but is terrible
quality...all muffled
and crackly like
nobody's business.
Nothing but a weird
constant hissing.
 xawtv, tvtime, and
kdetv
No audio at all
No audio at all

Where should I go next?  Thanks again for help; I appreciate it greatly.
