Are you sure you use different mpeg2 decoder filters?
Most of the time windows chooses filters automatically and sometimes it's
hard to tell what filters is used.
If you want to experiment with different filters i sugest you use graphedit
(comes with platform sdk).

I have no problems with mpeg2 files from mythtv, but i use a dvb-c card and
not a pvr card.
