you can certainly divert your X output to the PVR350 so that would
include the MythTV menus - not sure about the console though.

PVR350s aren't very good at playing MPEG4 but the drivers are
improving and with a sufficiently powerfull machine you should be OK
(my 1GHz EPIA can't quite manage it)

AFAIK you need some sort of video card to get most PCs to boot.
