My backend is in the basement. I have an AntennasDirect DB 2 sitting in
the window well, just above ground level. The broadcast antennas are
12-20 miles away. The antenna faces a small hill and many trees.
Nonetheless, I get a strong signal from the commercial stations, whose
antennas are about 12 miles away. PBS has their antenna in a slightly
different direction, roughly 20 miles away. I optimized the antenna for
PBS, and I can get a clean signal from them, but only when the weather
is nice. I plan on moving the antenna outdoors and on a pole. That
should give me a clean signal in all conditions.
